Mirelurk!!!

Carrion responds:

God damn mirelurks.

I like the Tulsa suggestion. In the spirit of that name, maybe something like Omaja/Omaha or Lodi

Neutronboar responds:

Thanks for the input :) Much appreciated

Was this inspired by Papa Emeritus III by any chance?

Stephen King r1c1
HP Lovecraft r1c3

You got all right! ;)

I'm glad you decided to keep up your daily imaginations... I think I should do that with my guitar. Daily riff or something. So what about some alien life form that bears a strong resemblance to a jellyfish or cuttlefish (maybe with some of the following: solar sails on certain appendages, light sensitive organs (not eyes), hardened carapaces...)

I'm glad you decided to hit #100 with a Lovecraft inspired piece. I am somewhat surprised that you haven't actually read his work considering the depth of your piece here. I really love the blur effect you've captured with the light source and how it shows on the creature.

If I may, I highly suggest checking out "At the Mountains of Madness", "Dreams in the Witch House" or "The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath". All 3 are classics, but they are very distinct in that they exemplify his interests in not only horror, but scifi, and math. I'm sure you can find plenty of material for your work. Brown Jenkin for starters.

Great job!

Xephio responds:

Thanks man! I promise i will check them all out. I've been wanting to really get into Lovecraft stories for a long time. It's like I already know how inspiring and amazing the stories will be without even having read any.

This is one of your best! I think partly because it's not so dark, yet still captures the atmosphere. So where's By-Tor? dude???

I like the implied size of the thing lurking in the background.

For suggestions, how about something space themed? Or since you've done a few HP. Lovecraft type things, what about something the the Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath? There should be plenty of material from that story alone to make 3 pieces.

Xephio responds:

I feel stupid for not having read any HP. Lovecraft stories. I will check Dream Quest out, thanks for the suggestion

Kinda reminds me of a happier version of Venger from the D&D cartoon back in the day.
